Welcome to the website of the 12th International Conference on Thermochronology. Thermo2010 will convene from the 16th - 20th August 2010, in Glasgow, Scotland.  The meeting will have three overarching cross-disciplinary themes of Innovation, Integration and Interpretation, and will focus on the theory, development and application of fission track, (U-Th)/He, and argon dating techniques.

The provisional timetable for Thermo2010 is now online here.  Please note that this timetable is subject to change.  A final version will be available for download approximately one month before the conference.

The deadlines for student support applications has now passed. We have received a large number of appliactions, and not all applications will be sucsessful. We will contact all applicants as soon a possible.

Thermo2010 - the biggest yet!

Thank you to everyone who has submitted an abstract. Abstract submission in now closed, but we have over 200 abstracts making this the 12th International Conference on Thermochronology the biggest yet. All authors will be notified of the provisional timetable and their allotted presentation format before the end of May.

Early Bird registration and abstract submission is now closed

If space permits we may be able to accpet a few poster presentations after the abstrcat submission deadline. Please contact the organisers to see if this is possible (Thermo2010@ges.gle.ac.uk).  A full scientific programme will be made available on the website and to all registered delegates in June.  Please check the site regularly for news and updates.

IGCP support for students and young researchers

The IGCP Project 543 ”Low-temperature thermochronology: applications and inter-laboratory calibration” will sponsor participation of students and young researchers from developing and emerging countries. For further information, please contact massimiliano.zattin@unipd.it.

Registration for (U-Th)/He dating workshop now open

A workshop on (U-Th)/He thermochronology will be held at the University of Glasgow and SUERC on 21-22 August, 2010. The workshop is suitable for early career scientists who wish to gain an understanding of the technique. The focus will be on methodology and will include theoretical and practical sessions in all relevant aspects of (U-Th)/He thermochronology.

Pre Conference Fieldtrip Update: We have managed to secure a number of extra places on this trip so if you wish to attend please register and make your payment as soon as possible. We expect these last few places trip to fill up fast.

The trip to the islands of Mull, Iona and Staffa will run from the 8th - 14th August (6 nights). More information can be found here. The trip is all inclusive (travel, accommodation & meals) Spaces are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.
