The original Atlas Sheets were created in Adobe Illustrator
(AppleMac
version 6) and CorelDRAW (PC version 7) vector formats from data
digitised
and edited within MapData software and saved as HPGL plot files and
ArcInfo
generate files.
The final vector files were directly converted to raster Gif format
for these web pages.
I have also been able to transfer the files into ArcInfo, ArcView and MapInfo GIS packages and graphics packages such as CorelDraw and Macromedia Freehand using MaPublisher from Avenza.
Please contact me if you require access to the
digital vector database
or wish to have some of the maps customised for
publication, web pages or GIS applications.
Please note that the Gif file for a full Atlas Sheet is approx. 5Mb, compressed to under 300k. It may take some time to initially download but will be accessed at speed once cached in memory for viewing.

I am also currently engaged in the production of a
"Food Security Atlas for Kagera Region, Tanzania",
in collaboration with research by Stijn Huysman, KAFOSEC, University
of Leuven, Belgium.
This web is site forms part of a proposal for a new
DIGITAL NATIONAL ATLAS OF TANZANIA
in both hard copy and digital output formats.
Any offers of financial support to undertake
this project would be most welcome.
The maps were originally created as part of my Master's dissertation
at the University of Glasgow, Scotland, UK.
